I love any excuse for a fresh start — like a new year. Forget the usual resolutions about fitness and finances – let’s explore three unique angles to make 2024 truly extraordinary.
1. Flipping the Script: Your Worst Year or Its Opposite
Fast forward to December 2024 and envision the worst possible version of your life within twelve months. You’ve been a bit of a jerk to your besties, survived on a diet of daily donuts and Diet Coke, and packed on 11 pounds. Fast forward to December 2024 and envision the worst possible version of your life within twelve months. Besides being unkind to loved ones and adopting unhealthy habits, you’ve neglected personal growth. Unhappy with the outcome? Flip the script and embrace the opposite choices for a positive transformation.
2. Your Hit List: Have, Do, Be
Let’s ditch the vague resolutions and get real specific. What do you want to have this year? Maybe it’s that red light face mask you’ve been eyeing, a cozy cashmere sweater, or beefing up your emergency fund by three months.
Now, what do you want to do? A road trip down the Southern route in May, three months of blissful Yin Yoga, or maybe hiring a voice coach so you can sing your heart out (my actual 2023 accomplished goal!).
Lastly, who do you want to be? Commit to a 20-minute walk when annoyance kicks in, follow through on every commitment (no matter how small), and sprinkle in some goodness by volunteering at a community service event each month.
3. Setting the Vibe: Motto or Theme
Let’s kick those resolutions to the curb and pick a mantra or theme for the year. “My body is a temple,” “More Connection,” or “Healing Year” – choose one that speaks to you. Align your choices with your theme, and let it guide your year with purpose. Here’s a YouTube video I made on this very topic.
As we gear up for a brand-new year, let’s ditch the ordinary and make 2024 uniquely yours. Whether you’re flipping the script, creating a hit list of specific goals, or setting the vibe with a meaningful theme, let’s make it a year to remember. Your adventure to an unforgettable 2024 starts now!
Happy Resoluting!
